On campus only.
Blackmagic Pocket Cinema, Blackmagic USRAs, Canon XF605 Pro Camcorders, and the Arri Alexa 35 for the capstone projects amongst others.
We make films from week 8 onwards to get students straight onto the tools, so that you are making new work every trimester. These films include documentaries, narrative, web series, branded content (ads), online multi platform content, one minute horror films and more.
25% of the course is Media Studies. You will watch films and learn to think critically about film as text - identifying and discussing the elements of film form (e.g. mise-en-scene, framing, editing, soundtrack, narrative patterns, genre) and key film theories such as feminist theory, queer theory and auteur theory.
Another 25% is Screenwriting (a unit each trimester) and the remaining 50% of time is spent learning practical skills: cinematography, directing, production design, producing, editing, colour grading, and sound mixing.
For full-time students, Screen & Media is taught over two full days during the week.
Your Screen & Media course can’t wait. Neither can you.
