Jane Jacob

Lecturer

Jane started her Music Industry career working in touring with artists such as Aerosmith,
Led Zeppelin and Lenny Kravitz. She then went on to pursue her dream of working in A&R;
and worked at Warner/Chappell UK as A&R Manager, signing and developing writers/artists
and producers. 

During her time there, she signed and developed several multi-million-selling
artists, including Paolo Nutini and Amy MacDonald. The former was awarded the highly
prestigious ‘Album of the Year’ award at the Ivor Novello in the UK, which was voted for by
the industry and songwriter members. She also signed and worked closely with artist and
composer Phildel Ng, who has had her music used in several high-profile advertising
campaigns, including Apple iPad and Marks & Spencer.

Since moving to Australia in 2009, Jane has worked in Music Supervision, where she works
across TV, Film and Advertising. She founded the SyncHouse in 2016 and has worked on
numerous TV and Film projects, including most recently US/Australian co-production ‘Good
Cop/Bad Cop’ written by John Quaintance and starring Leighton Meester and Clancy Brown.
Other credits include ‘Population: 11’ starring Ben Feldman (Stan/Jungle), ‘Critical Incident’
(Matchbox/Stan), ‘Paper Dolls’ (Paramount +/Helium), ‘The Twelve’ starring Sam Neil
(Foxtel, Easytiger), ‘Class of ’07 (Amazon/Matchbox) and Irreverent (Netflix/Matchbox). She
is currently Music Supervising UK/Australian feature film ‘Fing!’ written by a multi-millionaire
selling children’s author and comedian David Walliams, US/Australian co-production ‘Sunny
Nights for Stan starring Will Forte and directed by Trent O’Donnell, and ‘Two Years Later’
for Paramount+ +, starring Phoebe Tonkin and Brenton Thwaites.

Jane also works with distributor AWAL who represent artists such as G Flip, Genesis Owusu
and Angie McMahon. Her business is also expanding into composer management.
Jane has been teaching at Collarts since before it was Collarts, back in 2010 and specialises in Copyright, Rights Management and Entrepreneurship within the industry. As well as being passionate about music and media, she wants to encourage young industry professionals to create‘side hustles’, small businesses and develop different income streams. A self-confessed music nerd, she loves nothing more than reading music biographies, going to gigs, running, playing tennis and walking her dogs.
