Sam Strong is an award-winning theatre director and one of Australia's preeminent cultural leaders.

Most recently, Sam’s revival of Joanna Murray-Smith’s HONOUR became the longest running show in the 25-year history of Red Stitch Actor’s Theatre.

Prior to that, his production of Trent Dalton’s LOVE STORIES sold out its seasons at Brisbane and Adelaide Festivals. By the end of 2025 the production will have played in 8 Australian cities plus Auckland.

Prior to that, Sam spearheaded the stage adaptation of Trent Dalton's novel BOY SWALLOWS UNIVERSE. This blockbuster production, commissioned, dramaturged, programmed, and directed by Strong for Queensland Theatre, Brisbane Festival, and the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, became the highest-selling show in the 50-year history of Queensland Theatre.
