Mary is a Theatre Maker, Director, Dramaturg, Performer and Actor Trainer. A Masters in
Theatre Making working with artists nationally and internationally with mainstream and
independent companies, directing cross cultural workshops, performing and directing in
West Africa, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Japan.
Co Artistic Director of Liminal Theatre, directing and writing Red Shoes, Dreaming Billy, re
imagining Kantan by Yukio Mishima, Antigone and has performed in Mishima’s The
Damask Drum. A recipient of The Dame Elisabeth Murdoch Fellowship taking her to
Senegal creating Le Chant Du Bacchant with Senegalese artists.
Mary has been nominated for the Green Room Awards: Best Independent Theatre Direction – Oedipus a poetic requiem and Best Female Actor in Music Theatre – The Last Supper. Mary is a passionate lover of theatre as a living art. Her work generates and enlivens the substance and dimension of performance, how the actors embodies space and time towards transformation.
