Lecturer
Kitan Petkovski (he/him) is a multi-award-winning theatre director, dramaturg and producer of Macedonian heritage currently working and living in Naarm (Melbourne). His work has featured in international festivals and on renowned stages across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Kitan's practice experiments with cross-form and queer dramaturgies. A key feature in his work is the integration of live music.
In 2025, Kitan was the recipient of the Green Room Award for Outstanding Direction for his production of The Inheritance by Matthew López. The production was also nominated for Best Independent Production, Best Ensemble and Best Performance in a Leading Role. The Inheritance received 3 awards at the inaugural Dionysus Awards, including Outstanding Achievement in Drama, Best Ensemble and Kitan was awarded for Outstanding Direction.
