Aaron Walker (Lecturer)

Aaron Walker is a commercial photographer, educator, and former touring aerial acrobat whose career bridges creative practice, design thinking, and performance. He holds a BA in Theatre and Circus Arts, a BADes in Communication Design, and an Advanced Diploma in Photography, giving him a multidisciplinary foundation that informs both his teaching and industry work.

With more than a decade of teaching experience, Aaron has delivered programmes from Certificate IV through to Bachelor level across photography, design, circus arts, and video production. His teaching focuses on practical, real-world learning, strong conceptual development, and industry-ready skills. He has taught at Swinburne University, Photography Studies College, and Collarts, where he continues to lecture in online and on-campus modes.

Aaron’s industry portfolio spans editorial portraiture, events, live performance, tourism, and brand storytelling. His clients include major arts companies, government bodies, and commercial brands, and his work is shaped by an instinct for movement, atmosphere, and narrative—skills rooted in his early performance career. He has created large-scale festival coverage, studio campaigns, travel commissions, and dynamic promotional content across stills and video.

Aaron’s research and teaching interests centre on visual storytelling, creative technology, and emerging AI practices in photography and media. He is committed to supporting students in developing adaptable, contemporary workflows that prepare them for a rapidly shifting creative landscape.
