Want to learn how the pros set up for an epic drum recording session? Join us as we prepare for a session on our hybrid analog/digital recording set up in one of our studios, using our state of the art collection of microphones! We'll discuss drum set up and tuning, microphone choices, placement ideas, as well as tips and tricks to take you from the recording phase into the mixing phase.
Flat Lay Fashion Styling
Suitable for Fashion, Textiles, Photography and Studio Art students
A Flat Lay is all about showcasing your product and communicating a visual story for digital media platforms. In this flay lay workshop, you will have the opportunity to apply some creative product styling techniques to produce an insta-worthy flat lay! We will teach you photographic tips and tricks using your smartphone, as well as creative layout techniques including composition, balance, colour and lighting.
Introduction to Studio Lighting
Suitable for Photography, Media and Studio Art students
Get hands-on experience using professional photographic studio lighting! We'll cover the basics of setting up the lights right through to taking amazing portraits. The skills you learn during this workshop will also give you a newfound appreciation for lighting within photography and, in turn, help you improve your photography outside the studio!
Sketching a Floor Plan
Suitable for Design, Vis Com and Studio Art students
In this workshop, students will learn to develop a range of techniques to carry out a basic measure up and produce sketched floor plans. Participants will explore the concept of drafting and how Interior Designers use these principles to create floor plans, elevations and other technical drawings.
The Art of Storyboarding
Suitable for Media students
Ever wonder how a script is transformed into a moving image? Bring your creative ideas to life with the Art of Storyboarding. In this workshop, students will take the 10 frame challenge, creating a short storyboard for a film or animation scene that will help bring their visual ideas to life for their next media project!
