FASHION MARKETING OVERVIEW

If you dream of a career as a Fashion Brand Manager, Visual Merchandiser, Buyer, Fashion Blogger, Wholesale Account Manager, Stylist, Fashion Publicist, Event Manager or Creative Director, this course is for you.

The Bachelor of Applied Business (Fashion Marketing) is ideal for students wanting to work in the fashion industry in styling, event management, marketing and business. You will be taught and mentored by industry experts who are currently working within major brands, fashion houses and agencies.

With an emphasis on fashion business, you will undertake fundamental units such as the history of fashion, styling, fashion merchandising, entrepreneurship and Marketing & PR. Students graduate with a well-rounded understanding of the fashion industry, both in Australia and internationally.

Bachelor Degree

The Bachelor of Applied Business (Fashion Marketing) will provide students with knowledge and understanding of contemporary fashion marketing activities and operations. The course ensures students develop practical skills and experience required to gain employment in the field of fashion marketing. The degree can be completed in six trimesters (two years) of full-time study. 

Throughout the degree, you will:

  • Work on industry projects with fashion designers and brand;
  • Learn and apply practical skills in fashion merchandising, styling and trend forecasting;
  • Gain hands-on experience in running fashion shows, events and installations;
  • Acquire an in-depth understanding of marketing, publicity and social media;
  • Gain knowledge and experience of fashion business practices and entrepreneurship;
  • Develop an industry relevant portfolio of creative project;
  • Study in our warehouse-style campus in the heart of Melbourne’s fashion district.

Diploma

Admissions Requirements
 
ALL APPLICANTS: Applicants must undertake a 30 minute interview. During the interview we will ask you questions about your knowledge and experience within your field of interest as well as discuss your course choice with you. 
 
Diploma – Applicants are required to successfully complete VCAL, VCE, IB or state/international year 12 equivalent. If students have not completed the year 12 requirements, they must be at least 20 years of age. The diploma can be used as a pathway into the Bachelor degree. There is no ATAR minimum or subject requirements.
 
Bachelor – Applicants are required to successfully complete VCE, IB or state/international year 12 equivalent. VCAL students are not eligible for the Bachelor until they have successfully completed the diploma. If students have not completed the year 12 requirements, they must be at least 20 years of age. There is no ATAR minimum or subject requirements.

Non-Year 12 applicants may apply directly on the website, and a Future Student Coordinator will be in touch to arrange an interview.
 
Year 12 applicants MUST apply through VTAC. VTAC opens in August each year. Place the appropriate Collarts course into one of your preferences and a Future Student Coordinator will be in touch to arrange an interview.
