Our double degrees are ideal for students wanting to combine their passion for Music Performance or Audio Engineering with a solid understanding of the business and management side of the entertainment industry.

Music Performance + Entertainment Management Double Degree

If you dream of a career as a Songwriter, Recording Artist, Music Director, Artist Manager, Tour Manager, Event Manager, Festival Organizer, Booker or Venue Manager this course is for you.

The Music Performance + Entertainment Management Double Degree is ideal for students who want to develop their ability in solo and collaborative music performance, music analysis, songwriting, technical musicianship, whilst also learning about the recording, business and management side of the music industry. Students will undertake fundamental units such as music performance, songwriting, technical musicianship, marketing and business strategy, publicity, music publishing, and event management. 

Collarts also offers students a variety of real-life industry experiences so that they are career-ready when they graduate. Through our industry partnerships with Drexel University, Laneway Festival and more, students have opportunities to partake in overseas exchange programs and summer camps, sought after internships and hands- on experience at major festivals.

Throughout the Double Degree, you will:

  •  Craft and produce original songs in studio;
  • Understand and develop performance at a professional level;
  • Gain exposure to the Australian and international music industries;
  • Gain knowledge and experience in artist and tour management;
  • Access career pathways through our industry partnerships and placements;
  • Plan, manage and promote live events;
  • Develop a foundational understanding of publicity, marketing and the media;
  • Gain knowledge and experience in artist and tour management;
  • Undertake a 60-hour work placement;
  • Complete two degrees in 3 years full-time (or part-time equivalent).

The double degree is delivered at the South Melbourne, Fitzroy and CBD Campuses and is recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework, accredited until 2023.

Audio Engineering + Entertainment Management Double Degree

If you dream of a career as a Venue Manager, Audio Producer, Studio Manager, Stage Technician, Tour Manager, Event Manager, Festival Organizer or Artist Manager, this course is for you.

The Audio Engineering + Entertainment Double Degree gives students who are interested in both the technical and business sides of the entertainment industry the best jump-start into a career.

This double degree is ideal for students who are interested in both the technical and business sides of the entertainment industry. Students will undertake fundamental audio units such live sound, recording, producing and post-production, and then pair it with key business and management subjects such as event management, marketing strategy, copyright management, international business strategy, publishing, and project management.

Collarts also offers students a variety of real-life industry experiences so that they are career-ready when they graduate. Through our industry partnerships with Drexel University, Laneway Festival and more, students have opportunities to partake in overseas exchange programs and summer camps, sought-after internships and hands-on experience at major festivals.
